A completion thyroidectomy is a surgical procedure that involves removing any remaining parts of the thyroid gland located in the neck. This procedure may be recommended after a thyroid lobectomy, during which part of the thyroid gland is surgically removed and tested for abnormalities, such as differentiated thyroid cancer.
